"Epilepsy: Why Mystic?"
This event aims to dispel the mystical origin of epilepsy in the mind of the population of the Sanaga Valley, where the prevalence of epilepsy is high, and to give the scientific explication of epilepsy, then provide strategies to avoid the disease. Video projection and posters will be used.

"Increasing Stroke Awareness among Kenyan Medical Students and Patients at an Outpatient Diabetes Clinic"
Cerebrovascular disease is increasing in prevalence globally. Kenya is not an exception and with changing lifestyles, dietary habits, cigarette smoking and an increasingly sedentary lifestyle in the urban population, efforts need to be made to increase public awareness on stroke.

"Awareness on the Causes and Effects of Head Injury on the Brain" The four-day program will include a public rally in Damaturu among 500 motor bike riders, a campaign in 2 secondary schools,1 tertiary institution of 300 students. A radio talk-show program will be held on prevention of domestic causes of head injury.

"Side Effects of Brain Stimulants in Tea Taken by Commercial Motor Cycle Riders and Taxi Drivers in Kano State"
Focus on motor cycle riders, taxi and cab drivers, many of whom rely on brain stimulants for high performance, to create awareness of the hazards of brain stimulants on the brain and to reduce the accidents caused.

Aim: to create and increase general awareness on the study of Neuroscience, to disseminate information on the brain, in health, accidents and disease, to increase awareness of brain disorders caused by head injury especially among motor cycles riders and industrial workers, to inform the general public about the important of brain research.

Gulu, Uganda

"Your Brain Your Wealth, Understanding The Brain For A Better Living"
This project is intended to act as a foundation in promoting awareness about the brain in northern Uganda where no single brain awareness activity has been carried out before. The project will also sensitize and prepare the participants as a foundation for brain awareness week in March of next year.

The project is scheduled to create a self sustaining brain awareness campaign.
The target audience is science teachers from 50 primary and secondary schools, student leaders from these schools, and education and other district officers.

This group has been chosen because their empowerment will be used to organise future brain awareness activities in their schools, including an annual brain bee and a brain art competition. The overall impact is intended to create a wider understanding of the brain as well as to inspire students to opt for carriers in neuroscience, neurology and neurosurgery.

There will be interactive sessions for students from colleges and schools and general public with scientists and doctors.

The principal aim of this event will be to provide a better public understanding of the functions of the brain. The event also will empower public to learn about the brain and some of basic behaviors. This is the first such seminar in the southeast region of Mexico.

Target audience teaching and student population of pre-school and elementary schools, parents and/or representatives, adults and health professionals.
