How to apply on-line for Travel Grants  

This document describes the on-line application process for Travel Grants.

  • To access online applications, open the page Applications. You will see a list of available applications.

  • Applications are available for on-line editing until the deadline date (midnight, Eastern Standard Time = Montreal time).

  • You need to log onto the system in order to open the application.

  • If you do not remember your password, request it by sending an e-mail to password.request@ibro.info. You will receive an answer with 48 hours.

  • Note: You must be an IBRO member to apply for a grant. Check the FAQs on how to become a member.

  • Applicants cannot apply for more than one category of funding within travel grants. 

  • To be eligible for an IBRO/SfN International Travel Grant, you must be currently working and living in a resource-restricted country – those defined by the World Bank as low, lower-middle, or upper-middle income. (Click here for the World Bank's country classifications.)


Personal Record

The first part of the application deals with your personal data. These data are an essential component of your application, and you should provide all details as requested in the forms. Note that once filled out, your personal information is available for any other IBRO programme you might apply to in the future. Detailed instructions are also posted with each form.

   1. Application status (Indicates the date of last edit and the status: active, canceled)
   2. Personal information
   3. Photo (150 x 150 pixels, jpg format)

   4. Address & telephone
   5. Education
   6. Language proficiency 

   7. Research info: Topic (One entry only – summarizing your current research)
   8. Research info: Interests (selected from a list)
   9. Research info: Keywords (selected from a list)
  10. Research info: Skills (enter your list)

  11. Supervisors (your current Supervisor should be also included as one of the Referees, form 16)
  12. Positions held
  13. Publications (last three years)

  14. Awards (especially, all IBRO Awards)
  15. Neuroscience Schools attended (especially, all IBRO Schools)
  16. Neuroscience meetings attended (no need for complete abstracts)

Referees 

   17. Two Referees are required, one of whom should be your current Supervisor (also entered in the form 11).
   18. This application will automatically send an e-mail to proposed Referees requesting the letter of reference and providing instructions on how to fill out the letter of reference.

Application for Travel Grant

   19. Identify the event /conference you wish to attend. Describe why attending this event /conference would be important for you.
   20. Include the abstract of your presentation.  

General

   21. Uploading of files (normally not required)

Final Form

   22. Confirmation of the completion of application. It is important to save this form by clicking on "Restart".




A brief note on entering data in the forms

  • The text prepared in MS Word and copy/pasted in the forms needs to be cleaned from the Word code incompatible with the HTML. To remove the code, you can either copy/paste in Notepad and then to the forms or use the filter available in the Editor of this application ("Clean HTML Content").

  • The data are saved as soon as you click on "Insert" (for the first time entries) or on "Update".

  • In areas where multiple entries are allowed, there will be a button "Add New". Once finished with entries, use "Continue". If there are no entries, use "Cancel".

Requests for help, questions, and comments regarding this application should be sent by email to help@ibro.info with the subject indicating the nature of your message. Sending your request to any other e-mail address will only delay the response. Please allow one working day for an answer.
